Fantastic Olympic-themed novel!

I don't usually put a book on the blog until I have finished it.  But this one is so good, and so timely, I wanted to let everyone know about it.  If you are as caught up in the Olympics as I am, you will love Gold, the latest novel from Chris Cleave (gained popularity a few years ago with Little Bee).

This book is hard to put down!  It is about two women cyclists who have been racing against each other for years and have a love/hate relationship, and of course there is a guy in the middle, and he is an Olympic cyclist as well.  All the action is leading up to the London 2012 Olympics!  I don't know who is going to win, but I can't wait to find out.  The timing of this book is perfect.  I have been love reading about the private lives and training of these athletes, while watching the real thing on TV!  I urge you to run out and grab this before the Olympics are over!  (I have the copy from the NK Public Library and will be returning it tomorrow).

A little while ago I posted a recipe for a corn and black bean salsa, but what I neglected to tell you was how fantastic it is in a tortilla with pulled pork, or chicken!  Yum!
