I needed to take a little break from YA dystopia, so I decided to read an adult book that everyone has been recommeding. It turns out that it has a 12 year old for a protagonist and a the setting is the end of the world. Go figure! I still loved it. The rotation of the earth is slowing so that every day last a little bit longer, with disastrous results to crops, wildlife, and of course, humans. Very creepy, but well done.
In the spirit of fall cooking I tried this sauce I found at the store. DELICIOUS! I had never seen this before, and had a feeling it would be good. It was a little thick, so I added a little marsala wine and chicken broth. I poured it over frozen butternut squash ravioli I bought at BJ's and added a little sauteed onion, garlic and diced pancetta. Mmmmm!
