Great mob related love story

The Girl she used to be by David Cristofano: I read this for book club last year and loved it.  Melody has grown up in the witness protection program and when the mobster who has been chasing her down finds her, sparks fly!  Quick read, lots of fun.

My kids LOVE it when I make this for breakfast on the weekends.  They call it "The Baby Pancake".  It's not as hard as it looks...and it is delicious-crispy on the outside, warm and custardy on the inside.

Dutch Baby Pancake
3 T unsalted butter, room temp
3 eggs
3/4 milk
1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup plus 1T sugar
1 T lemon juice

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.  In a medium cast-iron or ovenproof nonstick skillet melt 2 T butter and set aside.  In blender, combine eggs, milk, flour, salt, vanilla, and 1/4 cup sugar.  Blend until foamy (about 1 minute).  Pour batter into skillet and bake about 20 min, until it is puffy and lightly browned.
Take out of oven and quickly dot with remaining butter, sprinkle with 1 T sugar and lemon juice.  Slice into wedges and serve (we use maple syrup and whipped cream).
