Amazing book and breakfast sandwich!

My book club chose Room by Emma Donoghue this month, because we felt like we were the only book club on earth that had not yet read it. I was leery about this selection, but I loved it, and read it in 2 days.  I won't tell you the premise, because either you have heard about it already, or it will turn you off.  But give it a try, it is excellent.

I learned about this recipe while watching Giada de Laurentiis on TV a few years ago, and it is one of my favorite things for breakfast on the weekends. 

1. Toast or grill a large slice of Italian bread, French bread, or a bagel. 
2. Slather with butter and then some marinara sauce (I just grab a tablespoonful from a jar or any leftover sauce I have on hand).
3.  Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
4.  Top with a fried egg.   Mmmmmmmmmmm!
